EHEDG

The European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) was established in 1989 as a non-profit alliance of equipment manufacturers, food producers, suppliers to the food industry, research institutes, universities, public health authorities, and governmental bodies. Its core mission is advancing safe food production through better hygienic engineering and design across every stage of food manufacture. EHEDG actively supports European food-safety legislation, which requires that the handling, preparation, processing, and packaging of food be carried out hygienically — using hygienic machinery within hygienic premises — in line with the food hygiene directive, the machinery directive, and the food-contact-materials directive. Equipment manufacturers and end users carry the responsibility of implementing these requirements, and EHEDG provides the guidance needed to meet them in compliance with national and international legislation.

3-A

3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc maintains an extensive library of design criteria for processing equipment and systems, developed through a modern consensus process built on ANSI requirements to support acceptance by USDA, FDA, and state regulatory authorities. TIPS works to these standards when specifying hygienic processing equipment, and draws on 3-A knowledge resources to support training and education needs across the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical sectors we serve.
